The Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) is a formal advisory body to the Lake-Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization (LSMPO). BPAC is a committee appointed by the LSMPO Board members from a broad base of professionals and concerned citizens, whose mission is to advise the LSMPO Board on bicycle and pedestrian issues. Also the committee is to assist the LSMPO Board in the formulation of goals and objectives for shaping the urban and rural environments through the effective planning for bicycle and pedestrian facilities.

Appointments are for one (1) and two (2) years beginning April 2006.

Florida Bicycle Traffic Laws
Under Florida law, a bicycle is considered a vehicle, and is entitled to share the road with cars, trucks and other vehicles. Therefore, those wishing to operate a bicycle should become familiar with state traffic laws that apply to bicycles. View the State's bicycle laws.
