The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is proposing to implement the indexing of toll rates for all FDOT and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise toll facilities. Section 338.165 Florida Statutes mandates that FDOT shall index toll rates on existing toll facilities to the annual Consumer Price Index or similar inflation indicators no more frequently than once a year, but no less frequently than once every five years. According to statutes, the indexing of toll rates must occur on or before June 30, 2012. Additional revenues collected as a result of the toll rate indexing will allow for advancement of widening improvements, interchanges, expansion projects and other system and safety improvements.
To find out more about toll rate indexing please join us for a Toll Rate Rulemaking Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. The hearing is being held as a statewide electronic webinar - a live presentation over the internet which allows interested persons to attend the meeting from their personal computer.
